IPB Investment Counselor - Vice President (VP) The Investment Counselor is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within their field and contributes to directional strategy by applying their expertise to the business. Recognized as a technical authority in their area, the role requires basic commercial awareness and the ability to guide, influence and convince colleagues and external customers. Significant impact is achieved through complex deliverables that drive performance across the sub‑function and the organization. Responsibilities Works closely with field sales managers to support sales professionals in a specific geographic area. Partners with territory teams to grow existing clients’ share of wallet and win a greater percentage of high net worth prospects by delivering quality solutions that meet individual client needs. Educates the sales force on product solutions, creates customized proposals for high net worth clients, and accompanies sales professionals to client meetings. Collaborates with colleagues to offer complete advice and wealth solutions to clients. Leverages specialists and wholesalers to provide subject‑matter expertise and presents or co‑present at client events. Acts as a subject‑matter expert in the area on products and planning concepts. Maintains up‑to‑date knowledge of new products, industry trends, regulatory requirements, tax law changes, etc. Partners with product support to provide case management and design support. Provides a high level of communication and customer service to sales professionals and their clients. Balances requests from different sales professionals across the area and actively monitors the queue of outstanding cases and client meetings. Presents to clients at events hosted by sales professionals. Travels to support field sales meetings with clients. Accountable for product revenue goals and penetration goals. Other duties as assigned. Assesses risk when making business decisions, driving compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Citi policies while safeguarding the firm’s reputation. Qualifications 6‑10 years of experience in product sales. Expertise in managing a sales territory and a broad understanding of financial services, product solutions, and planning strategies. Client‑centric skills with excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities. Expect up to 75% travel, typically limited to area day trips. Education Bachelor’s/University degree; Master’s degree preferred.
