Regional Finance Business Partner

Our client is a globally leading European MNC in heavy equipment & machineries, providing solutions to major industries like infrastructure, transportation, government, and marine.
You should come from relevant technical industries - for example, engineering, marine, or heavy equipment.
You will be covering APAC across Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia, Australia, and Japan, and will work closely with regions outside of APAC, including Greater China (including HK).
Primary Role:
Regional Finance Business Partner for Sales & Service business units for APAC.
You will also cover the role of Local Finance Manager for Singapore, having the local Accounting team reporting to you.
Regional Finance Business Partner, APAC (50%)
Analyze financial & non-financial performance of entities in APAC (including China JV).
Develop operative and strategic options for entities.
Derive improvement initiatives, measures, and goals.
Decision-making on topics with financial impact together with the Regional Manager.
Coordination of the annual Target Setting and Forecasting process.
Define additional Reports (standard and ad hoc) providing adequate information and transparency for Management.
Build an interface and act as contact person between Regional Functions and Regional entities.
Regional Business Partnering: Add value by providing full transparency regarding financial and non-financial performance and giving financial business advice to the Regional Manager as a co-decision maker.
Ensure an efficient and effective annual Target and Forecasting process.
Support to ensure standard methods and procedures are implemented and applied.
Ensure transparent and accountable Reporting – timely and according to Corporate deadlines.
Coordinate between Local Functions and Local entities: Understand the requirements of both Regional Functions and Local entities.
Ensure adequate information flow between Regional Functions and entities is established.
Local Finance Manager (45%)
Ensure correct and due Reporting and compliance with evaluation principles according to local regulations/rules (local GAAP) and (IFRS), and maintain relations with the local auditor.
Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and maintain relations with local tax consultants and tax authorities.
Maintain an independent view, driving proactive intervention if compliance is at risk.
Hire Accounting staff with appropriate skills and organize Admin processes.
Supervise the internal control system - continuously reviewing and improving internal controls.
Sign off all Accounting and Tax-related declarations, including the periodical Reporting package to headquarters.
Build an interface and act as contact person between Global/Corporate Functions and Local entities.
Manage communication between the local legal entities and all local Stakeholders related to administrative topics.
Local Business Partnering: Add value by providing full transparency regarding financial performance (of the country/legal entity) and giving financial business advice to the Regional Finance Manager and Local Managers.
Ensure transparent and accountable Reporting fulfilling all obligations regarding documentation and archiving.
Ensure timely and correct Reporting according to both local authorities (i.e., Tax declarations) and standard/ad hoc internal requirements.
Understand the requirements of both Global/Corporate Functions and local entities. Together with the local MD, be the legal representative of the legal entity and handle all local contracting issues.
Manage relations with local Bank and Insurance institutions.
Act as a coordinating role for legal aspects, being the contact person for lawyers and legal counsels of the Group.
Finance and/or Accounting Projects / Process Improvements (5%)
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
CPA or CFA preferred.
Minimum of 5-7 years in finance or business partnering roles, ideally in multinational environments.
Strong knowledge of IFRS, local GAAP, financial analysis, and risk management.
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency in influencing cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in ERP systems (example SAP), advanced Excel, and data visualization tools (example Power BI).
