Rigger and Signalman must be accredited by MOM.
Ensure that required PPE is properly donned.
Duties and responsibilities (Rigger):
Ensure cargoes are properly rigged, secured, stable, and balanced before lifting.
Ensure cargoes do not exceed the permitted safe working load.
Place adequate paddings on cargoes to prevent damage to the sling and cargo.
Report any defect in lifting gear to Foreman/SLO/LS.
Look out for safety hazards and warn personnel involved in lifting.
Establish tag lines if required to control cargoes.
Notify and report to Foreman/SLO/LS immediately on any difficulty in discharging/loading cargoes.
Notify Foreman/SLO/LS immediately in any situation that may compromise safety.
Conduct operations according to assigned job scope.
Duties and responsibilities (Signalman):
Verify with rigger that cargoes are properly rigged before signalling for lift.
Ensure personnel are clear from 'line of fire' before signalling.
Perform correct signals to guide crane operation.
Position yourself correctly for clear visibility of signals.
Avoid handling/rigging cargoes simultaneously when signalling.
Report any difficulty in conveying signals to the crane operator immediately.
Report any safety concerns immediately.
Conduct operations within the assigned scope.
Liaise with JP SMC team on administrative issues.
