Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Clinical Oncology Nurse Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working closely with radiation oncologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver safe and effective treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing radiation therapy, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and performing dressings and cannulations.
- Lead a team of patient care assistants and health attendants in assigned areas, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Brief patients prior to all radiation therapy procedures, ensuring they understand their treatment plan and any necessary precautions.
- Display confidence and competence in providing timely nursing advice to patients and family members, addressing their concerns and questions.
- Assist radiation oncologists in consultations, conducting necessary procedures and contributing to the development of individualized treatment plans.
- Maintain and upkeep equipment and supplies, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
- Participate in continuing education, improvement, and other activities of the department, staying up-to-date on best practices and emerging trends in oncology nursing.
Requirements:
- Degree/Diploma holder in Nursing or equivalent, with at least 2 years' specialization in Oncology Nursing preferred.
- Radiation Protection Act compliance.
