Job Description As a Backend Engineer in the Recommendation Team, you will: Participate in the design and development of Shopee's core backend recommendation systems, enabling fast iteration for product and business needs. Optimize performance of online serving engines, recall/ranking modules, and offline data pipelines. Contribute to building reusable system components and services, supporting Shopee's centralized recommendation platform. Learn and research industry trends in recommendation and backend technologies, applying innovative ideas to real-world business challenges. Requirements Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (graduating from December 2025 to May 2026). Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and computer systems. Solid coding ability, with proficiency in C++/Golang/Python, and familiarity with Linux environments. Interest in distributed systems, high-concurrency architectures, and scalable backend design. Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills. Self-driven, eager to learn, and motivated to work on challenging technical problems. (Preferred) Familiarity with backend frameworks, recommendation/search/ads systems, or large-scale data processing.
