Overview Assistant Director, Technology Innovation and Strategic Operations at National University Health System, Tengah General and Community Hospital. The incumbent will support the Operations Lead in executing the strategic vision of healthcare technology and innovation, implementing and coordinating technology initiatives across operations, clinical and building systems to enhance patient care, optimise operational efficiency, and foster sustainable manpower strategies. Working under the Operations Lead's intelligent hospital of the future vision, this position ensures seamless execution of technology transformation initiatives whilst providing operational support across the healthcare ecosystem. Job Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field with minimum 7 to 10 years relevant experience, including at least 3 years in healthcare. Proven experience in healthcare operations, programme coordination, or strategic implementation with exposure to digital health technologies and understanding of healthcare business operations. Demonstrated experience in programme coordination, implementation support, and operational transformation initiatives involving technology integration. Strong knowledge of hospital operations, healthcare service delivery, patient safety protocols, clinical workflows, and facilities management from operational perspectives. Experience in horizon scanning, technology intelligence, market research, or strategic analysis within healthcare or technology sectors. Strong coordination and implementation skills with experience in programme support, budget tracking, vendor coordination, and operational performance monitoring. Leadership capabilities managing project teams and supporting complex business transformation programmes across multiple service domains. Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills with ability to support executive presentations and facilitate cross-functional collaboration. Strong analytical and implementation skills supporting business solutions through operational insights and performance data analysis. Demonstrated interest in healthcare transformation and understanding of healthcare business operations, service delivery optimisation, and operational excellence methodologies. Implementation-focused mindset supporting business value creation, operational efficiency, and service quality improvement whilst maintaining patient safety focus. Responsibilities Strategic Implementation and Intelligent Hospital Execution: Execute comprehensive technology and innovation strategy, coordinate integration of operational technology, clinical systems, and building management systems, and oversee technology domains to support interconnected healthcare environments. Horizon scanning and vendor networks: Conduct systematic horizon scanning of industry trends and establish networks with technology vendors, research institutions, healthcare innovation hubs, and industry experts. Technology Coordination and Implementation Support: Coordinate implementation of technology initiatives, develop business cases, manage procurement, ensure alignment with governance frameworks, and support enterprise strategy while ensuring business continuity and compliance. Smart Hospital Operations Support: Drive a comprehensive digital platform for facilities, equipment, patient flows, processes, and building systems; support IoT, real-time analytics, and digital twin monitoring for KPI-based improvements. Autonomous Systems Implementation and Operational Coordination: Lead AMR/AGV initiatives, coordinate integration with workflows, manage fleet strategies, and identify opportunities to enhance safety and efficiency while complying with safety standards. Cross-Departmental Coordination and Stakeholder Support: Collaborate across clinical, operations, facilities management, and executive teams; manage external partner relationships and provide strategic updates to leadership. Technology Implementation and Business Transformation Support: Identify transformation opportunities, develop strategic roadmaps, conduct evaluations for digital twins and integrated systems, and oversee end-to-end programme management including procurement and change management. Innovation Workgroup Support and Coordination: Act as secretariat for innovation workgroups, plan and execute initiatives, and implement governance for technology projects ensuring alignment with standards. Operational Support and Performance Coordination: Manage programme scopes, timelines, budgets, risks, and resources; monitor operational performance and contractor relationships; ensure regulatory compliance. Innovation Support and Team Development: Promote a culture of innovation, develop high-performing teams, and support professional development in healthcare operations and transformation methodologies.
