Ensure the smooth running of our plant equipment

As a Production Technician (Chemicals), you will perform duties related to plant operations, responsible for the safe and efficient processing of a batch chemical plant. Your duties include handling materials, including hazardous chemicals, in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and ISO Certified Procedures.

Responsibilities include:

  • Demonstrating knowledge of basic chemical manufacturing processes and safety policies
  • Increasing knowledge of products, processes, and equipment such as reactors, blenders, tank farms, and utilities
  • Working within the control room and interpreting batch tickets according to SOP and ISO standards
  • Communicating with technicians to ensure smooth operation of equipment
  • Loading, unloading, and transferring raw materials and products, managing waste according to environmental standards
  • Conducting maintenance checks to ensure operational standards

Qualifications:

  • High School, Nitec, Diploma in Chemical or equivalent
  • Experience as a Chemical Plant Operator or Process Technician in a batch processing chemical plant
  • Experience with ABB 800xA automation system or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), safety data sheets, and chemical hazards
  • Participation in Activity Based Risk Assessment
  • Ability to handle 25KG raw materials
  • WSQ CERT Course trained for emergency response
  • Forklift license and computer literacy
