The Director of Nursing provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of nursing services to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, and person-centred care to elderly clients. This role drives clinical excellence, fosters workforce development, and ensures compliance with regulatory and professional standards in alignment with the organisations mission and values. Responsibilities Provide oversight to ensure the consistent delivery of high standards and quality nursing services across all SLEC care settings, including centre-based, home-based, community-based, and residential care Lead and support the professional growth and development of nursing staff within SLEC, fostering a culture of continuous learning and career advancement. Develop and maintain nursing capability and capacity to meet current operational needs and to support future organisational growth and expansion plans. Drive and nurture a culture of innovation and research within the nursing department to enhance evidence-based practices and improve care outcomes Actively contribute as a member of SLECs senior leadership team in shaping organisational strategy, vision, and direction Serve as the nursing representative on the SLEC Board and functional committees, advocating for nursing perspectives in decision-making processes Represent SLEC externally through stakeholder engagement, partnerships, and professional appointments to enhance the organisations profile and influence. Engage actively in teaching and research activities to support professional development and advance nursing knowledge within the sector. Requirements Must be a Registered Nurse with a valid practising certificate in Singapore and possess a recognised Bachelor's Degree in Nursing; a Master's degree is preferred. A minimum of 10 years of nursing experience is required, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity within the eldercare, community care, or acute care sectors. Demonstrates strong clinical expertise in geriatric care, including chronic disease management, dementia care, and end-of-life care practices. Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse nursing workforce with empathy and accountability. Possesses in-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, nursing standards, and compliance requirements from MOH, AIC, and other relevant authorities. Experienced in driving quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and risk management in a healthcare or aged care setting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, residents families, and external stakeholders.
