System Infrastructure Specialist

The role of System Infrastructure Specialist involves providing daily technical support for systems software, networks, servers, and end-user devices via IT helpdesk, remote assistance, and on-site support. Key responsibilities include configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting network infrastructure for office and store locations, encompassing LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and wireless systems.

  • Administration and management of server infrastructure (on-premises and cloud) including AWS, DNS, Active Directory, DHCP, and domain controllers.
  • Deployment and management of customer server hardware, virtual machines, storage appliances, routers, firewalls, switches, and other network equipment.
  • Planning, leading, and executing system and network infrastructure deployment projects.

Responsibilities also include monitoring system and network performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring uptime meets service level agreements (SLAs). Implementing proactive improvements by analyzing past incidents and identifying weaknesses in the infrastructure is crucial. Implementation and maintenance of network and system security measures including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and secure access policies are also key aspects of this role.

  • Applying formal change management, incident management, and problem management processes.
  • Maintenance of documentation, checklists, and regular reports for operational tasks.
  • Performing other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Diploma/Degree in Information Technology or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience working in a Windows environment.
  • Microsoft-related certifications or other relevant technical qualifications will be an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel.
  • Independent, self-motivated, and capable of handling responsibilities with minimal supervision.
