This position is responsible for applying data-driven problem-solving, data science, and optimization techniques to resolve real-life manufacturing problems and deploy the solutions in a production environment.

What To Expect

HMGICS seeks data scientists interested in solving industrial problems and applying solutions at scale in a mass-production environment. Candidates should have a technological interest in Data Analytics, Optimization, AI/ML, or Generative AI & LLMs, and a functional interest in logistics, supply chain, assembly, quality, maintenance, or enterprise functions.

  • Participate as a data scientist in multidisciplinary teams to improve production performance in areas such as logistics, supply chain, assembly, maintenance, and quality.
  • Perform explanatory analytics to understand and optimize key performance drivers.
  • Develop and maintain models to enhance productivity, flexibility, quality, or sustainability.
  • Deploy models in production and train engineers and technicians to utilize insights for performance improvement.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
  • 2-5 years of project experience as a data scientist resolving industrial problems and ensuring adoption of data solutions.
  • Preferred experience in manufacturing and/or automotive industry.
  • Experience in implementing data science or AI projects at scale.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including rapid analysis, idea development, and deployment.
  • Experience with Regression, Classification, Clustering, Time Series, Forecasting, or Kernel methods.
  • Skills in Mathematical programming, Metaheuristics, or Optimization algorithms.
  • Experience with distributed data frameworks like Hadoop, Spark, or Hive.
  • Proficiency with data mining frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, or MLlib.
  • Experience with Generative AI and LLMs is a plus.
