Job Description
About this job:
The job holder will be a key contributor to different reserving activities across the APAC L&H business.
About the role:
Key responsibilities
Prepare and support the quarterly actuarial valuation of APAC L&H business under various reporting bases (US GAAP, SII, IFRS17, MAS, HK RBC, VIF, BMA)
Maintain documentation of methodologies, processes, procedures, controls and results
Set up and maintain actuarial valuation models for various lines of business with a focus on DMTM business
Monitoring and tracking of DMTM business including reconciliation of cedant accounts/data against marketing companies campaign data
Prepare the quarterly APAC valuation result review and reporting
Support continuous enhancement in processes and controls
Provide support for both internal and external audits
Develop technical knowledge (product, assumptions, regulation, industry trends) and become an expert within the Valuation team
Support the annual Experience Studies and Assumptions setting process
Support the APAC Chief Actuary and Senior Valuation Actuaries on ad-hoc projects
Qualifications
About you:
Technical skills/competencies
Fully qualified/nearly qualified actuary
Knowledge of AXIS/R would be an advantage
Proficiency in English
Soft skills
Organized, able to work in a matrix structure
Attention to details
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Team orientated
Unafraid of challenges and a desire to learn
Wish to work in a dynamic and culturally diverse environment with colleagues possessing a wide and varied range of skills and experience
Work experience
5-7 years’ actuarial experience in Life (re)insurance
