We are seeking a Quantum Key Distribution Manager to lead these efforts, working closely with industry partners and clients to deploy and commercialize QKD solutions.
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) Manager to spearhead the deployment and commercialization of QKD technologies. In this role, you will work primarily with a network of industry partners to select, deploy, and optimize QKD solutions for our clients. More than just a technical expert, you will collaborate closely with our management consultants, organizational change specialists, and other teams to help clients develop new revenue streams. This includes strategic planning, business case development, service pricing, go-to-market strategy, and support structures.
Key Responsibilities:
QKD System Deployment and Commercialization: Lead the selection, deployment, and optimization of QKD systems in collaboration with industry partners. Focus on practical applications that generate immediate value and revenue for clients in telecommunications and technology sectors.
Market and Industry Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key vendors, industry partners, and academic institutions. Stay informed about market trends, emerging technologies, and competitive dynamics to position Applied Quantum as a leader in the QKD space.
Strategic Consulting and Business Development: Work with cross-functional teams, including management consultants and organizational change experts, to develop comprehensive strategies for clients. This includes creating business cases, determining service pricing, advising on technology licensing, and developing go-to-market approaches.
Client Engagement and Customization: Engage with clients to understand their unique needs and challenges. Customize QKD solutions to meet specific requirements and drive new revenue opportunities for clients.
Technical Leadership and Collaboration: Provide technical guidance and leadership to engineering teams working on QKD projects. Ensure seamless integration and deployment of QKD technologies within client infrastructures.
Research and Innovation: Stay ahead of industry trends by conducting research on emerging QKD protocols and quantum cryptographic algorithms. Integrate the latest advancements into client projects to deliver cutting-edge solutions.
Qualifications:
Educational Background: Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in Quantum Physics, Quantum Information Science, Cryptography, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Equivalent experience in quantum research or industry will also be considered.
Experience: Experience in quantum key distribution, quantum cryptography, or quantum communication. Proven experience in leading the development and commercialization of quantum technologies is highly desirable.
Market Understanding: Strong understanding of the market dynamics in quantum technologies, telecommunications, and technology sectors. Experience in building relationships with vendors, industry partners, and academic institutions is essential.
Strategic and Business Acumen: Ability to work with management consultants and other teams to develop business strategies, pricing models, and go-to-market plans for quantum technologies.
Technical Expertise: Background and/or understanding of quantum cryptography, and the design of QKD systems. Familiarity with optical systems, photonics, and telecommunications is advantageous.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
