Roles & Responsibilities Responsible for the safety of the crew members working aboard the supply/launch boat. This position needs to possess leadership skills while also being able to work as a team to ensure the smooth functioning of the boat operations. Steer and operate vessels, using radios, navigation lights, buoys. Responsible for manoeuvring and handling the boat/craft operating within the Port Limit of Singapore Territorial Waters. Familiar with Singapore's territorial waters and outside port limits and verifies the accuracy of courses using navigational aids. Maintain boat documentation and certification Adjust navigation according to weather conditions, tides and tidal currents. Good understanding on the relevant Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) regulations/procedures, Port Marine Circulars and Port Marine Notices. Good understanding on the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea relating to Sailing and Steering Rules Ability to communicate professionally and effectively through various channels, including, email, radio and phone. Maintain boats or equipment on board, such as engines, navigational systems & safety equipments. Monitor the loading or discharging of cargo. Maintain cleanliness and condition of craft/launch. Other Ad-hoc duties Follows company and work site safety policies/procedures and commits to an “incident and injury free” work environment. Possess Certificate of Competency as Helmsman or Steersman Able to read, write and speak simple English Physically fit Able to work long hours as and when required. Ability to work 2 days on, 2 day off, revised as necessary.
