Kroll's Portfolio Valuation team is a market leader in providing illiquid portfolio pricing valuation, with Portfolio Valuation professionals assisting clients in the valuation of alternative investments, specifically for securities and positions without "active market" quotations available to reference. As a part of the team, you will play a crucial role in helping client-facing professionals develop innovative solutions that enhance our ability to cater to our clients in a rapidly evolving market. If you are an experienced professional in business modeling, this is an excellent moment to consider joining Kroll We are in the process of expanding our Portfolio Valuation team and are seeking a motivated Vice President to join us and support our growth.Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:- Conducting comprehensive reviews of existing Excel models to identify areas for structural and efficiency enhancements.- Developing and implementing solutions to enhance model performance and reliability based on identified areas for improvement.- Utilizing advanced Excel features such as LET and LAMBDA functions, as well as Visual Basic and macros to automate repetitive tasks and streamline processes.- Integrating SQL and Python scripting within Excel to extend functionality and improve data analysis capabilities.- Leveraging tools like Microsoft Copilot, Power Automate, and other advanced tools to optimize modeling techniques, outputs, and workflows.- Designing and structuring Excel models to seamlessly integrate data from the Azure cloud environment into workflows.- Contributing to the creation of compelling data visualizations and dashboards in Excel and Power BI, translating complex data sets into clear, actionable insights.- Proactively staying informed about industry best practices and emerging tools through continuous education and professional development.- Collaborating with Kroll engagement teams to identify and implement modeling solutions for clients.- Supervising and mentoring junior staff.Essential traits for this role include:- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.- A minimum of 9-12 years of experience in creating and enhancing advanced financial models in Excel.- Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing client relationships, mentoring staff, and developing teams.- Proficiency in Excel modeling with a solid foundation in VBA, SQL, and/or Python.- Familiarity with Databricks and/or Azure, with the ability to integrate data from these platforms into Excel being preferred.- Experience in creating data visualization solutions in Excel and Power BI is preferred.- Knowledge of accounting concepts and alternative assets, including private equity and/or private credit, is advantageous.- Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.- Passion for learning, evidence of self-directed learning on technical subjects, and the ability to work with staff at all levels of the organization.About Kroll:Kroll is a global leader in risk and financial advisory solutions, blending trusted expertise with cutting-edge technology to navigate and redefine industry complexities.
