As a Game Development Team Lead, your primary responsibility will be to identify, train, mentor, and develop junior team members into proficient game developers who consistently achieve key performance indicators and deliver high-quality output. You will serve as a focal point for the development team, leading by example and fostering a can-do attitude. Collaborating with the on-site director and senior management, you will ensure company goals are met and promptly address any relevant issues that may arise.Your role will involve reviewing core technology solutions, providing constructive feedback during code reviews, and working across departments to enhance communication, streamline processes, and ensure efficient workflows. By adjusting time estimates based on team capacity and project requirements, you will establish realistic timelines for project completion. Leading meetings, tackling challenges, and upholding team morale with diplomatic and problem-solving skills are key aspects of this role.Additionally, you will be responsible for leading interviews, evaluating technical and cultural fit when recruiting new team members. Your strong background in game development, with at least three years of experience in the gaming industry, will be crucial as you guide teams and nurture junior members. You will leverage your expertise to identify and rectify subpar code practices within game development, ensuring optimal performance and maintainability.Proficiency in game development tools such as Unity, Cocos, and Godot, as well as app development tools like Swift, Flutter, and Objective-C, will be essential for success in this role. Excellent communication skills, the ability to collaborate effectively across departments, and prior experience in managing personnel situations with diplomacy are also required.
