Makeup Artist
Senior/Lead Makeup Artist
Responsibilities are focused on delivering the brand's highest standard of service to customers at the assigned retail outlet and driving sales and profits, while working closely with the Store Manager to ensure smooth daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
Reports into the Store Manager and Sales Executive; provide the brand’s highest standard of service to customers at the assigned retail outlet and drive sales and profits.
Work closely with the Store Manager to ensure smooth daily operations.
Main Functions
Work closely with retail team members to achieve sales targets monthly.
Exude proper and professional conduct at the counter.
Ensure proper daily grooming (makeup and dressing) based on brand’s requirement.
Responsibilities (but not limited to)
Operations & Achieving Sales Targets
Ensure timely reporting for daily store operations.
Attend counter briefings from Store Manager to get updates on brand, marketing and education communications.
Be aware of sales targets and goals to achieve in the briefing sessions.
Monitor personal monthly sales productivity KPIs – AUS/IPT.
Maintain a cohesive and cooperative work environment to work towards achieving brand sales target and business growth.
Performs cashiering duties at counters/FSS in a professional manner with the highest respect to customers; maintain accuracy and integrity.
FSS Makeup Artist: Follow SOP for team members for opening cash float, daily cash collection and consolidation for banking, and proper documentation of card charge slips for submission to Finance Department; report discrepancies in daily sales tally to Store Manager and Sales Executive.
Stocks/Inventory Management
Performs monthly inventory counts designated by the Store Manager; manage stock-in/receiving for stock freshness and report discrepancies and aging stocks.
Practice FEFO (First-Expired, First-Out) to ensure proper stock management.
Maintain OOS list and follow up on stock orders with Store Manager; update on high-demand SKUs based on market trends.
Counter/Store Maintenance
Daily checks on counter/boutique merchandising units and product displays per brand guidelines; report discrepancies to Store Manager.
Ensure store cleanliness and hygiene; manage post-Covid tester hygiene SOP.
Report malfunctions to contractor/maintenance team and update the Store Manager.
Forecast and replenish counter hygiene supplies with Store Manager.
Staff Coaching & Development
Assist Store Manager in coaching new NARS Artists (on-the-job training), coordinating with Education Department onboarding agendas.
Provide regular updates on new hires’ progress.
Ensure all team members are aware of roles, targets and goals.
Coach slower performing team members; reinforce service standards and product knowledge; demonstrate selling skills.
Assist Store Manager in ensuring daily grooming standards and provide feedback for improvement.
Service Excellence & CRM
Provide an excellent shopping experience and uphold high standards of customer service.
Handle and manage customer complaints.
Recruit new customers and build relationships with current customers.
Be aware of brand CRM initiatives and customer-data collection, strictly adhering to PDPA guidelines.
Brand Education
Undergo on-the-job coaching during the first month and attend a two-day brand basic seminar.
Receive trainings in product knowledge, NARS artistry techniques, and sales and operations during the OJT period.
Commence Artist Certification after four months of service and completing Basic Training Seminar; assessment by National Makeup Trainer on François Nars’ techniques.
Attend all training sessions arranged by Education Department (virtual or in-class).
Seasonal Seminars showcase new launches and techniques; top performers may be considered for further development opportunities.
May be selected to work on projects for social media to support brand campaigns and launches.
Others
Assist Store Manager and Brand Team for brand PR and events.
Inspire customers with expertise on beauty trends and product knowledge; determine customer needs and assist in finding appropriate NARS products.
Senior & Lead Artists may be assigned to external events, media presentations, livestreams, and workshops.
Adhere to Shiseido Code of Conduct and Ethics (CoCE).
Job Qualifications
Strong passion for the beauty and cosmetics industry.
Minimum GCE ’N’ Level or equivalent; 3 years of retail experience preferred.
Certificate in Makeup Artistry.
Computer literacy, especially Office 365 (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams).
Reliable, dependable, and punctual with attention to detail and initiative.
Ability to work in a team, multi-task, and manage stress in a fast-paced environment.
Flexible schedule including weekends and/or public holidays (dependent on counter staffing).
Proficient with digital platforms like Instagram, TikTok, etc.
