**Job Title:** Technical Lead
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Manager to lead our In-situ Machining Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the department, working closely with the General Manager and other department managers.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine/offshore/shipyard environments, with at least 5 years of experience in in-situ crankshaft grinding/machining, line-boring/milling, and general machining knowledge.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the department, ensuring efficient and effective operation.
- Achieve budgeted sales and profit targets.
- Oversee staff welfare, guidance, discipline, and performance, including adherence to company rules, laws, and regulations.
- Ensure the health and safety of department employees, subcontractors, and other employees on department jobs or allocated to other departments.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within the department.
- Lead repair teams in their daily duties onboard and ashore, planning work scopes, allocating personnel, assessing tool requirements, scheduling, and executing repairs and service works.
- Conduct ship and offshore vessel inspections, troubleshoot, and perform repairs/upgrades and conversions, providing sound technical advice to customers.
- Establish links to facilitate new business opportunities.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience in marine/offshore/shipyard environments.
- At least 3 years of experience in in-situ crankshaft grinding/machining, line-boring/milling, and general machining knowledge.
- Demonstrate ability to handle work professionally, independently, and efficiently.
