Job Description

Job Title: Maintenance Technician III (HAY 10)

Do you like to take an extra step, analyzing the root cause of a failed software component or interface, and providing solutions for the cause?

Vanderlande understands the complexities of a successful airport and parcel operation and delivers future-proof logistic process automation. These automation systems are composed of many Electromechanical, IT, and control components that require expert knowledge to support.

As a Maintenance Technician III, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and reliability of our airport's baggage handling infrastructure. Your expertise and attention to detail will directly contribute to providing a seamless travel experience for countless passengers daily.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of all mechanical and electrical equipment of the baggage handling system and passenger boarding bridges in accordance with electrical drawings, operations and maintenance manuals, and manufacturer's specifications.
  • Exercise safe working practice at all times, especially complying with Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures.
  • Assist in executing service calls.
  • Responsible for safe work practices.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance.
  • Certifications in electrical and/or mechanical systems from accredited colleges, vocational schools, or OEMs, appropriate to the job level.
  • Basic understanding of electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in operations and maintenance.
  • Flexibility with time, able to shift priorities quickly based on staff and system needs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer and service-oriented.
  • Proactive with a strong work ethic and initiative; interested in growth within the organization.
  • Ability to work independently.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Full-time position; 24/7 operation; 3 shifts; overtime, weekend, and holiday work. Shifts can be 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or mid-shift. Flexibility is required.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Work in secured baggage handling areas, repair stations, or on airfields.
  • Meet strict deadlines to maintain flight schedules.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching from ladders and scaffolds.
  • Regular talking, hearing, reaching with hands and arms.
  • Active position requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
  • Frequently lift/move items over 50 pounds.
  • Handle equipment such as conveyor systems, often working with greasy parts and tools, sometimes in uncomfortable positions.
  • Exposure to mechanical parts, vibrations, and outdoor weather conditions when working on passenger boarding bridges.
