The School of Social Sciences invites applications for a part-time lecturer (PTL) who will serve as the primary instructor for core and elective courses in the Psychology major curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
Preparation and delivery of lectures, tutorials, and discussion sections.
Supervision and coordination of teaching assistants and tutors.
Setting assessment components and marking examinations.
Qualifications and Requirements
Doctorate or master's qualification in Psychology or a related field, with demonstrated effective teaching and training of undergraduates. Specializations in Personality Psychology, I/O Psychology, Bio-psychology, or Clinical Psychology are particularly welcome. Evidence of excellence in teaching and/or clinical supervision is highly desirable.
Ability to contribute significantly to teaching and development of multiple undergraduate courses, including survey, laboratory, methods, and seminar courses.
Essential Selection Criteria
Higher degree (PhD/DPhil/Masters) in Psychology or a related discipline.
Experience and interest in teaching undergraduate psychology students, with a strong commitment to organizing and delivering teaching, especially in areas like Personality Psychology, I/O Psychology, Bio-psychology, and/or Clinical Psychology.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills relevant to teaching and pastoral care.
Willingness to contribute to the objectives of the Programme and School, working collaboratively with others.
Desirable Selection Criteria
Emerging research track record (peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations) in Psychology fields.
Experience in academic administration.
