Overview
Finance Manager – Financial Planning & Analysis at Mandai Nature, Singapore-based non-profit conservation organisation. The Finance Manager will support the Deputy Vice President, Finance & Governance in building and delivering a high-quality financial planning, analysis and reporting function. The role focuses on financial planning, analysis and reporting for programme leads, donors and the senior leadership team, with involvement in grant risk processes to ensure financial due diligence and compliance.
Responsibilities
Support the Deputy Vice President, Finance & Governance in the annual budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring efficient use of resources, financial sustainability and regulatory compliance.
Liaise with programme leads, HR, IT and other stakeholders to ensure budgets and forecasts reflect programme needs.
Provide finance inputs to donor budget proposals to ensure high-quality proposals that reflect organisational needs and include shared costs.
Generate monthly financial performance reports for programme leads and the senior leadership team.
Analyze variances between budget/forecast and actuals and recommend actions to keep the organisation on budget.
Support donor reporting (e.g., annual financial updates or reporting packages).
Develop and leverage reporting tools (e.g., Power BI) to produce timely and accurate financial reports.
Perform finance due diligence on grant partners to confirm eligibility for Mandai Nature grants.
Conduct surprise audits of grant partners to ensure funds are utilised per grant agreements.
Review grant partners’ financial reports.
Lead or support business process and system improvements; participate in special projects or ad hoc tasks as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in financial planning, analysis and reporting.
Experience with non-profit organisations is advantageous but not mandatory.
Strong budgeting, analysis and reporting skills; comfortable with systems and applications.
Experience working with diverse stakeholders; strong business acumen and stakeholder engagement.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities; logical and analytical mindset.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; demonstrates integrity and accountability.
Team-oriented with a proactive, collaborative attitude; passion for conservation and biodiversity.
