1.0 OVERVIEW
As the Director of Production for the Games Division, you will set the vision, define the processes, and grow the team to enable TransPerfect to rapidly expand into new markets in the gaming industry, as well as strengthen existing markets. Your scope will span various disciplines within the gaming industry including but not limited to localization, testing and QA, art & design, audio, and player support, with a focus on strategic partnerships with gaming companies. You will also partner with product managers, linguists, testers, marketing teams, customer success teams, engineers, and designers to help bring TransPerfect’s revolutionary services and technology offerings to gaming companies around the world.
2.0 DESCRIPTION
Define, manage, and optimize TransPerfect’s go-to-market strategy, processes, and success metrics to deliver the suite of TransPerfect products to gaming companies around the world.
Hire, support and retain staff across production, program management, content engineering and team resource management.
Lead forecasting, business projections, financial attribution, and goal setting with the strategy leaders (C-level and executive).
Build processes to scale localization, testing & QA, art design and other services, technology, marketing, and support content.
Develop tenets for prioritization and mechanisms for measurement and analysis related to Games Division offerings worldwide.
Work with the software engineering team to create, evaluate, implement and maintain relevant technologies and tools.
Partner with marketing and sales to inform market selection; influence GTM (go-to-market) global expansion strategy.
Be the ambassador for the games division teams across the whole company, especially representing the Americas and APAC countries.
Maintain a high level of production quality in all locales and languages where TransPerfect clients take their products.
Manage single and multi-language vendors to ensure high quality translations and other production services are delivered, sometimes on tight timelines.
Complete all other tasks that are deemed appropriate for the role and assigned by the manager/supervisor.
3.0 REQUIRED SKILLS
Proven track record of managing teams with different/competing priorities and ability to lead the team to strategic and tactical decisions.
Strong ability to provide clear creative direction, timely and helpful feedback to improve creative processes to keep work on quality, budget, and schedule.
Ability to interact and communicate with senior executives and navigate matrixed organizations to ensure successful project delivery and acceptance.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Create a culture that provides continuous feedback, support, and empowerment.
Be an internal advocate for the game products operation development.
4.0 REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
12+ years of experience leading localization and internationalization efforts for gaming companies, preferably for both client and vendor side.
Shipped 10+ AAA titles.
Experience fostering relationships at all levels of the organization, including presenting to C-Suite and cross functional leaders.
Experience building, advising, or using tooling related to games localization.
Experience defining and implementing programs and staffing models across a large company (i.e., not direct reporting line) that resulted in faster go-to-market timelines.
Experience managing and growing a cross functional team across multiple games disciplines.
Deep understanding of vendor landscape and relationships to creatively solve different resourcing challenges.
Background managing localization across a diverse set of content and media types (e.g., web, desktop, console, mobile and VR games, related websites, marketing content, audio & video).
