Job Title: Principal / Senior Project Engineer Job Location: Tuas, Singapore Job Overview: As a Project Engineer, this position will assist the Project & Process Team Lead in project execution for CAPEX initiatives, with an initial focus on the establishment of a new API manufacturing facility in Singapore.Key Responsibilites : Support delivery of the capital project scope for the establishment of a greenfield API manufacturing facility in Singapore according to the project plan Lead a diverse team for the design, installation, commissioning and qualification of systems and equipment Establish user requirements and translate them to design specifications for the new facility Ensure that design and construction of systems in work area assigned is compliant to local regulations and cGMP requirements, where required Work with contract administrators to ensure contracts are fulfilled on time and can be closed out satisfactorily Work with Project Controller to ensure healthy operation of the project, particularly with regards to budget and schedule Act as scheduler for the project, providing inputs to the schedule based on site progress To support the commissioning and qualification effort of the process equipment and associated systems. To actively seek avenues to improve project operational efficiency During project phase, the individual is expected to be actively involved and at times doing multiple roles to support the overall success of the greenfield project startup May be assigned to lead investigations in the event of quality and safety non-conformance, whether by suppliers or STA Propose and evaluate modifications to equipment, processes or operations to either improve safety or increase efficiency Manage, nurture and guide subordinate employees / contractors, and conduct effective assessments. Other work arranged by the team lead Qualifications: Bachelor degree or above in chemical, mechanical, electrical/electronic engineering and other related majors Working knowledge of scheduling software such as Microsoft Project Experience with budget and spend management Ability to understand and negotiate commercial contracts preferred Strong technical knowledge coupled with hands-on working experience in a pharmaceutical / biotech / fine chemical facility preferred Working experience in start-ups, commissioning & qualification of process systems in an operating plant is a plus Excellent leadership and communication skills Ability to lead teams including external contractors Excellent team player willing to work for the common goal Mentoring and coaching skills Extensive communications with stakeholders in China, ability to speak and write in Mandarin fluently to liaise and work with Mandarin-speaking internal and external partners. Demonstrate appreciation of construction site conditions, knowledge of Workplace Safety and Health highly preferred
