Marine Engine Fitter Job Description

The Marine Engine Fitter is responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of marine engines and associated propulsion systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and experience working with marine equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation and Maintenance

The Marine Engine Fitter will be responsible for accurately installing and securing marine engines and associated propulsion systems in accordance with technical specifications and engineering drawings.

Repair and Troubleshooting

Conduct regular maintenance checks and perform repairs on marine engines and related equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure peak operational efficiency.

Troubleshooting and Diagnostics

Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues and implement effective solutions.

Compliance and Safety

Ensure all activities are carried out in compliance with company policies and maritime safety regulations.

Housekeeping

Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Experience

Min. 1 year of working experience in the related field.

Training

Training is provided to an inexperienced candidate.

Skills

Being able to read and interpret mechanical and hydraulic schematics is a plus.

Work Environment

Comfortable working on vessel occasionally.
