As a
Principal Process Engineer , you will undertake process engineering design work with a strong emphasis on safety in both design detail and engineering execution. You will work under the direction of the Lead Process Engineer and assist in the recruitment and development of process engineers. You will keep all process documentation ready for audits.

The Role Responsibilities Include
Provide definition of the process engineering work in the project, design approach or criteria by skill and experience.
Understand the Codes and Standards applicable to the work and raise deviations where necessary.
Before starting any process work, write and agree a Process scope of work (SoW) with the Lead Process Engineer (or designated representative). The SoW must clearly state the work scope, man-hour budget and schedule.
Estimate process manhours for any job using current process manhour norms.
Maintain work progress (budget, schedule) and raise change documentation where necessary.
Supervise technical detail, budget and schedule of process design in project work when requested by the Lead Process Engineer.
Liaise with clients, vendors and outside parties in a professional manner.
Undertake process focal point duties where requested.
Plan manhour budgets and schedules for all projects within the focal point area of responsibility.
Manage resources allocated to the focal point area (both technically and by discipline-specific project controls).
Liaise with the client focal point on technical and engineering matters regularly.
Quality Assurance – work within the provisions and guidelines of the QA system relevant to the project.
Safety – follow OH&S procedures and maintain personal safety on the project.
What You’ll Have
Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical Engineering) or equivalent.
More than 15 years of process engineering experience in design/operations support related to the FPSO/offshore sector, with at least 5 years in a lead position. FPSO experience is mandatory.
Computer skills including process simulation packages such as HYSYS and PRO/II and in databases, spreadsheets and word processing.
Experience developing process flow diagrams, heat and mass balances, piping and instrument diagrams, and sizing and specification of equipment including separators, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers and dehydration/sweetening units.
Working knowledge of oil and gas codes and standards, particularly API practices and ASME/ANSI pipe and pressure vessel codes.
Good report writing skills.
