Job Description

The Swim Coordinator/Coach is responsible for planning, executing, and supervising the daily operations of the after-school swimming program, part of the school's Co-Curricular Activities (CCA). This role ensures a high-quality aquatic experience for students of all abilities and provides support during curriculum-based aquatics lessons.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement training programs tailored to swimmers' skills and goals.
  • Plan and organize practice sessions, drills, and skill-building exercises.
  • Coach swim squads and/or learn-to-swim programs, including in-water instruction.
  • Provide feedback on swimming techniques.
  • Lead and foster a team of after-school swim coaches.
  • Maintain effective communication with swimmers, parents, and staff.
  • Train during school holidays if necessary.
  • Assist PHE teachers during swim lessons.
  • Ensure safety regulations and best practices are followed.
  • Handle administrative duties such as scheduling, budgeting, and event coordination.
  • Prepare reports and maintain logs in collaboration with the Director of EOTC.
  • Ensure pool safety and cleanliness before sessions.
  • Follow policies to ensure children's safety.
  • Contribute to school spirit and promote Nexus's philosophy.
  • Maintain constant poolside supervision and respond to emergencies.
  • Participate in school events and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Relevant degree (preferred).
  • NROC license.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in an international school environment (preferred).
  • Curriculum and coaching experience.
  • Minimum FINA Level 2 Coach/UKCC Level 2/ASCA Level 2 certification, with at least 2 years of coaching experience, preferably in squad planning for competitive swimming.
  • Basic knowledge of Google Suite, ACTIVE Hy-Tek, and Team Unify.
