Roles & Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Manage the technical operations and maintenance of assigned LPG vessels, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance, including dry docking and major repairs, to minimize operational downtime.
  • Ensure vessels adhere strictly to international, flag state, and class requirements (ISM, ISPS, IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL).
  • Develop, monitor, and control vessel operational expenditure (OPEX), ensuring cost efficiency and timely budget reporting.
  • Conduct regular inspections; issue clear reports; follow up on all recommended and required actions.
  • Guide and support vessel crews on technical issues and promote safety culture through training and mentorship.
  • Investigate technical incidents, identify root causes, and initiate corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Liaise with shipyards, vendors, and contractors for procurement and repairs; ensure timely delivery and quality of services and spares.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience as a Technical Superintendent managing LPG carriers; Chief Engineer experience at sea is an advantage.
  • Solid understanding of international maritime regulations and industry standards specific to LPG vessel operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve technical and operational issues efficiently.
  • Proven capability to communicate effectively across multicultural teams and with all relevant stakeholders.
