Job Title: Laboratory Professional

We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Professional to join our team. As a Laboratory Professional, you will be responsible for performing various laboratory tests and procedures, including receiving, examining, and testing clinical specimens.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform PCR, hybridisation, library preparation, next generation sequencing, and other advanced genetic laboratory applications.
  • Review results to determine interference, inhibition, or other problems that arise during extraction, amplification, or sequencing of nucleic acids.
  • Conduct quality control, validation, and other activities to verify the performance of clinical assays.
  • Operate computer programs related to equipment and LIS systems.
  • Maintain records of test results and archives of data.
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

You will need a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or an equivalent qualification, and preferably 2-3 years of clinical laboratory experience in molecular genetics, biochemical genetics, or cytogenetics. A keen interest to learn, positive work attitude, analytical thinking, good communication, and interpersonal skills are also essential.
