Job Overview

The Dental Support Professional is responsible for assisting the dentist during treatments and procedures. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the dentist during dental treatments and procedures
  • Maintain overall hygiene standards in the treatment rooms
  • Prepare patients for X-rays and assist with disinfecting and sterilizing instruments and equipment
  • Perform general housekeeping tasks to ensure the cleanliness of treatment rooms
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate levels of dental supplies in the clinic
  • Prepare materials, instruments, and equipment as required for dental procedures
  • Prepare cases for third-party labs and coordinate with laboratory staff as needed
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients at the front desk and over the phone
  • Admit and discharge patients, ensuring accurate records are maintained
  • Provide post-operative care to patients after procedures
  • Schedule patient appointments and register new patients
  • Ensure all patient information is accurately recorded and maintained in the electronic health record system

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Previous experience in a dental office setting highly desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in electronic health record systems
  • Physical stamina to perform job duties, including standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and bending
