Front of House Manager Job Description

The Front of House Manager is a key member of our café team, responsible for leading from the floor and managing daily operations. This role requires a skilled barista who can deliver genuine customer experiences and take ownership of their work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead from the floor – set the tone for warm, attentive service while working alongside the team as a skilled barista.
  • Manage daily operations – oversee FOH flow, maintain service standards, and ensure everything runs smoothly.
  • Customer experience – be the friendly face of the café, handling feedback with grace and building strong guest relationships.
  • Organisation & supplies – track and order inventory, manage vendors, and ensure FOH is always well-stocked.
  • Supplier management – work with suppliers to secure quality products, negotiate improvements, and find resourceful solutions to keep operations efficient and cost-effective.
  • Team management – recruit, train, and schedule part-time staff; support and motivate the team to deliver their best.
  • Ownership & accountability – take pride in the café's success and actively contribute ideas for improvement and growth.

Requirements:

  • A strong background in hospitality, café, or restaurant service.
  • Skilled barista who's confident on the machine and passionate about coffee.
  • Great people skills with experience leading or managing a small team.
  • Resourceful, organised, and proactive, with a knack for improving operations and supplier management.
  • A team player who isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves.
