Job Description
  • Database Administration: Design, implement and manage robust database solutions, including resource management, security, backup and recovery, performance monitoring and tuning, data management and capacity planning, multi-threading and parallelism, and failover between database instances.
  • Technical Oversight: Provide architectural guidance for implementation, recommendations or changes in supported environments through periodic reviews, audits conducted by internal delivery assurance groups or client-initiated audits or requests.
  • Automation: Assist in automation activities from design through development and deployment.
  • Documentation: Develop technical documentation skills.
  • Mentorship: Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to peers and team members.
  • Query Tuning: Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
  • New Implementations: Participate in new implementation projects and prepare pre-implementation plans for such projects - internal or external.
  • Issue Resolution: Independently analyze, solve and correct issues in real-time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
  • Data Modeling: Apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations.
Requirements
  • Degree: Possess a degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or related fields.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in DBA who has worked on Oracle and any other RDBMS.
  • Operating Systems: Should have experience in installation, administration and troubleshooting in Operating Systems - Linux (RedHat, Fedora, CentOS) Windows Server.
  • Database Knowledge: Hands-on experience in building database, writing database code like functions, procedures, stored procedures, triggers etc.
  • RAC & Data Guard: Working experience on Oracle RAC & Data Guard is a must.
  • Performance Optimization: Strong experience with performance optimization and tuning with database applications is a must.
  • Database Engines: Complete architectural knowledge on Oracle Database engines.
  • Backup and Recovery: Strong knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations, clustering, database mirroring, replication.
  • Resource Contention: Ability to detect and troubleshoot Oracle Server related CPU, Memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention.
  • OLAP Modeling: Exposure to large OLAP modeling, star schema is an advantage.
