Our organization seeks a Research Assistant with expertise in Analytical Chemistry to join our team of scientists. This exciting opportunity involves collaborating on the development and optimization of mass spectrometry-based methods for biomonitoring.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and organize standard operating procedures of projects
  • Develop new analytical methods (LC-MS/MS and ICP-MS) for biomonitoring compounds such as metabolites, PFAS, Phthalates, PCBs, PAHS, and heavy metals
  • Perform sample preparation protocols for human blood samples
  • Routine operation of LC-MS/MS and ICP-MS, once proficiently trained
  • Assist in processing and quality control of mass spectrometry data
  • Prepare project updates
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Analytical or Chemical Sciences, Pharmaceutical or Life Sciences, or related disciplines
  • At least 5 years working experience in an analytical chemistry lab
  • Hands-on experience with method development for LC/MS of at least some of the following compounds: metabolites, PFAS, Phthalates, PCBs, and PAHs (required)
  • Hands-on experience with method development for ICP-MS of heavy metals (required)
  • Hands-on experience with operation and troubleshooting of LC, MS and ICP-MS
  • Prior experience in a clinical laboratory or developing tests that have received regulatory approval is considered a strong advantage
