We are seeking a talented individual to drive our robotics research forward by planning, designing, and developing innovative perception systems for real-world applications.

About the Role
  • Design novel sensing solutions for various robotic platforms to address complex challenges.
  • Prototype solutions in simulation and hardware to evaluate their suitability and robustness.
  • Identify and resolve edge cases that arise when operating in real-world environments.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design perception systems that consider physical, computational, and cost constraints.
  • Develop software in C++ and Python and deploy & test on prototype/target hardware.
  • Implement state-of-the-art machine learning and image processing algorithms for targeted hardware.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry best practices within robotics.

The ideal candidate will possess an advanced degree (or equivalent industry experience) in a relevant field, with a focus on applying advanced concepts to practical problems in perception. The successful candidate should have hands-on experience with various Time-of-Flight and RGB camera sensors, as well as experience in designing, developing, deploying, and testing both hardware and software prototypes for proof-of-concept projects.

About You
  • Possess an advanced degree (or equivalent industry experience) in a relevant field, with a focus on applying advanced concepts to practical problems in perception.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with diverse sensing technologies, with an understanding of their characteristics, limitations, and integration methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with various Time-of-Flight and RGB camera sensors.
  • Experience in designing, developing, deploying, and testing both hardware and software prototypes for proof-of-concept projects.
  • Competent in implementing machine learning operations (MLOps) and computer vision algorithms, including object identification, object tracking, point cloud registration, and image segmentation.
  • Experience with robotics simulation platforms such as Gazebo or PyBullet.
  • Strong programming skills in C++, Python, and ROS (Robot Operating System), as well as familiarity with relevant open-source libraries and development tools.
  • Experience developing and deploying software solutions in Linux environments, utilizing modern software development best practices.
  • Capable of explaining complex concepts clearly and succinctly.
