Overview

The role of a senior research investigator is crucial in advancing our understanding of neurodegeneration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting and managing high-impact research projects to achieve established objectives.
  • Collaborating closely with experimental and data scientists to drive project progress.
  • Designing, setting up, and overseeing experiments, ensuring appropriate supervision and support.
  • Ensuring timely recording, analysis, and publication of results.
  • Presenting research findings to colleagues and contributing to publications.
  • Attending conferences and submitting papers to relevant journals.
  • Training and supervising students and staff on various techniques and experimental protocols.

Teaching and Development

  • Providing instruction on topics related to the post holder's work as requested by the line manager.
  • Contributing to multidisciplinary research projects within the department's strategy.
  • Preparing and analysing data for publications, including dissemination through international conferences and internal meetings.

General Duties

  • Maintaining accurate, complete, and up-to-date records.
  • Ensuring confidentiality as applicable.
  • Attending and contributing to Departmental, Institutional, and other meetings as required.
  • Delivering all aspects of research in accordance with the highest professional standards.
  • Carrying out duties in a resource-efficient manner and supporting the Sustainability Strategy.
  • Adhering to policies, rules, and regulations of the Department, Institute, and institution.
