Quality Control Specialist Job Opportunity

The laboratory is seeking a skilled Quality Control Specialist to oversee daily activities and ensure adherence to established standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate a team of Laboratory Assistants to inspect raw materials, goods in process, and finished products, guaranteeing quality control measures are implemented effectively.
  • Prioritize tasks to optimize resource utilization and meet work schedules, driving efficiency and productivity within the laboratory.
  • Collaborate with the QC Manager to categorize final products and reworked lots, maintaining accurate records and facilitating informed decision-making.
  • Analyze quality issues, implement improvements based on gap studies, and monitor progress to enhance overall laboratory performance.
  • Monitor in-process samples, engage with production teams to prevent and correct quality defects, ensuring compliance with established standards.
  • Compile activity reports to identify recurring problems and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Oversee staff, equipment, and laboratory processes to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the quality control system.
  • Prepare detailed reports on quality performance, providing stakeholders with critical insights and data-driven conclusions.
  • Train lab assistants and shift technicians on laboratory procedures, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Supervise and mentor team members, promoting growth and excellence within the laboratory environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree or Diploma in a Chemical-related field, such as Chemistry or Biochemistry.
  • A minimum of 5 years' hands-on experience in Laboratory Testing (Wet Chemistry), with a strong understanding of laboratory equipment and procedures.
  • Proficiency in manual testing methods, as well as knowledge of automated machines and technologies.

  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to guide and motivate a team of Laboratory Assistants.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to think critically and make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, navigating complex laboratory environments and making sound judgments in high-stress situations.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and convey essential information to diverse stakeholders.
