Chief Ship Inspector

As a Marine Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and integrity of ships at sea. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct surveys and inspections of ships-in-service, adhering to strict rules and regulations.
The job requires strong technical knowledge of marine engineering and naval architecture, as well as excellent communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct classification and certification surveys and inspections of ships-in-service according to established rules and regulations.
- Perform ISM/ISPS/MLC audits to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues and external partners to ensure all survey and inspection reports are accurate, objective, and submitted within the stipulated timeframe.
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess:
- A degree in Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture, or a Certificate of Competency 1.
- At least three years of relevant working experience as a full-fledged Marine Surveyor in a classification society, or six years of seafaring experience as a foreign-going engineer, or eight years of experience as a Technical Superintendent.
- A valid Singapore Class 3 driving license.
- The ability to travel at short notice and accept short- to mid-term overseas assignments when required.
