Reliability Engineer for Train Systems

Job Purpose:


You are responsible for ensuring the reliability and safety of trains. The goal is to support SMRT TEL in delivering safe and reliable train services for commuters. As part of your role, you will handle engineering issues related to train-borne systems on the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL). To address complex engineering issues, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams within SMRT and interact with staff from various disciplines. You will also engage with Land Transport Authority (LTA) and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) on engineering-related matters.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Carry out train reliability analysis, fault troubleshooting, and investigation, as well as engineering evaluation and implementation of programs.
  • Review preventive and corrective maintenance performed by SMRT TEL's Rolling Stock Staff. Participate in daily production meetings.
  • Track SMRT TEL's Rolling Stock Key Performance Index (KPI) and prepare management reports.
  • Review and update SMRT TEL's Rolling Stock documents, including work instructions, quality procedures, standard operating procedures, and risk assessments.
  • Utilize the Maintenance Management System (MMS) for compiling asset/system performance trends and analysis, and perform MMS training for engineers and maintenance personnel.
  • Promote a Kaizen culture within SMRT TEL's Rolling Stock Department. Collaborate with maintenance teams on Kaizen projects to enhance safety, productivity, and services.
  • Perform miscellaneous engineering and administrative duties as assigned.


Qualifications:
Minimum degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
