Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Legal Expert to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing data privacy legal support in the APAC and Emerging Markets region.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience managing privacy legal and regulatory matters, as well as experience working on data privacy efforts globally or regionally for a major multinational corporation.

You will also be required to monitor privacy across markets to determine trends and issues for the company to address, coordinate internal communication, projects, and training amongst different teams, identify areas of common concern, redundancies in operation, and inefficiencies in order to develop standards and policies to improve workflow in the region, plan any other required activities so international and regional legal teams can meet their objectives and provide actionable deliverables to the company at large, merge solutions across key jurisdictions and their legal requirements with a focus on AEM but should have a foundational knowledge of other global laws, increasingly advise on algorithmic and artificial intelligence-related matters.

This is a senior-level position requiring strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of data privacy law, and excellent communication skills.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Qualified to practice law and in good standing in Singapore, US, UK, or other common law jurisdiction.
  • Significant experience managing privacy legal and regulatory matters.
  • Experience working on data privacy efforts globally/regionally for a major multinational corporation or advising agency on data privacy issues.
  • Detail-oriented that can coordinate across multiple teams/countries.
  • Strong sense of problem-solving and proactive work ethic.
  • Determination to face tough challenges in a fast-paced environment while keeping a sense of humor.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
