About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Technical Support Specialist to join our team. As a Technical Support Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the well-being of applications in production, investigating any production issues raised by users, and providing workarounds.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Investigation and Resolution: Investigate production issues, respond based on production defect severity SLAs.
  2. User Management: Manage and respond to users in a timely manner.
  3. Incident Logging: Log incident tickets for production issues and user queries.
  4. Closure and Follow-up: Follow up on defect and incident closure, meeting incident closure KPIs.
  5. System Availability: Ensure system availability as per respective agreed SLAs.
  6. Daily Execution: Execute daily start of day (SOD) and end of day (EOD) execution for supported applications successfully.
  7. Disaster Recovery: Provide support for annual Disaster Recovery (DR) exercises for supported applications.
  8. System Engineering: Support System Engineers on server-level patches/upgrade as applicable.
  9. Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with 3rd party monitoring tools like Control-M, Genos, Splunk, SQL Monitor.
  10. Application Documentation: Update application incident & task documentation properly for each production release.
  11. Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills, demonstrated professionalism, and attention to detail.
  12. Production Incidents: Proven ability to work and resolve production incidents under strict time constraints, providing workarounds using AS400/mainframe or Unix shell or DB scripts.
  13. Technical Skills: Strong skills in AS400, Linux/Unix Shell scripting, MS SQL, Oracle, BMC Control-M Scheduler.
  14. Methodology: Familiarity with ITIL methodology (service operation).
  15. Experience: Prior hand-on production support experience of OPEN Systems/AS4000.
