Lead Retail and Merchandise Strategist

Develops and implements strategic plans to drive the growth and sustainability of attraction retail operations.

  • Collaborates with marketing and brand departments to curate new products that meet brand, market trend, and customer preference standards;
  • Negotiates contracts with vendors and ensures timely delivery of merchandise;
  • Analyzes sales data to identify trends and opportunities for growth, adjusting strategies as needed;
  • Prepares and controls budgets to minimize expenditure and maximize efficiency;
  • Keeps abreast of market trends to inform store improvements;
  • Trains and assists employees in customer service, store maintenance, and product promotions;
  • Maintains proper inventory levels, ensures stocking, and implements purchasing plans;
  • Creates promotional campaigns and in-store events to drive foot traffic and sales;
  • Ensures high standards of customer service and trains staff to provide knowledgeable assistance.
">Requirements:
  • Degree in Retail Management, Business Administration, or a related field;
  • 5+ years of experience in conceptualizing and operating a retail store, preferably within an attraction or museum;
  • Strong business and project management skills, including ability to create detailed project plans and timelines;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with internal teams and external partners;
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities to identify innovative commercial opportunities;
  • Knowledge of industry trends and competitor activities to maintain a competitive edge;
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with retail and guest experience enhancement strategies;
  • Ability to analyze guest feedback and attendance data to inform future retail initiatives;
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
