**Job Description**

We are looking for a skilled Marine Underwriting Specialist to join our team at Lonpac Insurance Bhd. As an Underwriter, you will play a crucial role in underwriting new and existing marine cargo policies within company guidelines.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for underwriting new and existing marine cargo policies within underwriting guidelines to achieve profitability.
  2. Manage relationships with intermediaries/partners and visit them regularly to promote and develop the marine portfolio by generating new business within guidelines and delegated authorities.
  3. Familiar with marine clauses, terms, and conditions.
  4. Demonstrate analytical skills, effective communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  5. Provide training to clients and intermediaries, and formulate underwriting guidelines for internal stakeholders on underwriting marine business.

Key Qualifications:

  • ANZIIF, ACII, or equivalent.
  • At least five years' experience as an Underwriter in the marine space - both broking or underwriting experience can be considered.
  • Experience in handling Marine Liabilities preferred.
  • Strong business acumen and good understanding of local developments.
  • Strong relationships with brokers and ability to reach out to agents for Marine business.
