Senior Underwriter

Insurance professionals are invited to apply for a senior role in underwriting non-marine insurance policies.
This opportunity is ideal for those with experience in complex commercial risks across Asia and a strong background in insurance underwriting.
Responsibilities include:
- Underwriting non-marine insurance policies for complex commercial risks across Asia;
- Managing relationships with brokers and coordinating information flow between internal functions and external parties;
- Negotiating with customers to achieve favourable terms;
- Reviewing proposals and making recommendations for acceptance;
- Providing accurate documentation and ensuring timely transactions processing;
- Developing skills and knowledge to enhance work quality and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs).
Requirements include:
- At least 12 years' experience in insurance underwriting for large/complex commercial risks, with specific experience in Asia essential;
- A degree in engineering or a related discipline (ideal);
- Insurance qualification/Membership of Chartered Insurance Institute (UK) or equivalent;
- Knowledge of commercial insurance underwriting process and market practices;
- Understanding of reinsurance concept and practices;
- Ability to interpret insurance conditions, clauses, and warranties;
- Ability to identify and analyse data for evidence-based decision-making.
