Job Description

Thales is seeking a Senior Solution Architect to join our team in Singapore. As a key member of our Airspace Mobility Solutions business, you will be responsible for defining and delivering state-of-the-art Air Traffic Solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Define and propose innovative technical solutions that meet customer requirements and are compliant with our business' product/system technical strategy.
  • Analyse architectural and technical choices to ensure the best trade-off between customer requirements, technical solutions, cost, and risk.
  • Ensure the solution architecture is optimised to satisfy product requirements, including exploring the solution space, defining architectural drivers, and performing early validation of the architecture.
  • Develop Architectural Viewpoints to define the system breakdown, lead interface definition, and describe system behaviour through functional flows.
  • Specify Technical Performance Measurements (TPMs) and support their validation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Document architecture in required artefacts, including Product Breakdown Structure and System of System Design Documentation.
  • Stabilise and maintain the solution architecture throughout its lifecycle in cooperation with the Project Design Authority (PDA) and the Engineering Delivery Manager (EDM).
  • Support the PDA and EDM in the approval of main engineering reviews and deliverables.
  • Review key Subsystems, including Infrastructure, Platform, and Security artefacts, to ensure that the constraints imposed by system requirements on the design are understood and met.
  • Ensure and demonstrate that the defined architecture meets requirements, taking into consideration performance, safety, security, human factors, ILS, contractually applicable legislation, rules, and regulations, including Environmental/HSE requirements and standards.
  • Contribute to the development of Architecture Policies, Processes, and Procedures to ensure best practice.
  • Provide mentoring and support to all personnel involved in architecture activities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in similar positions on projects delivering complex software-centric real-time systems.
  • Strong experience in the ATM Domain and Air Traffic Management standards, such as ICAO and Eurocontrol.
  • Demonstrated experience in the design of infrastructure and network architectures.
  • Demonstrated experience in the design of secure solution architectures inline with security standards and policies.
  • Experience with collective decisions and conflict resolutions.
  • Capability to manage various stakeholders with different objectives.
  • Proven capability to work in a multi-cultural environment and with a variety of international customers.
  • Aptitude to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary integrated team environment.
  • A positive attitude combined with excellent interpersonal and motivational skills.
  • Sound judgement and independent decision-making capability where necessary.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.

Desirable

  • Experience in Modelling Tools, such as Capella and Enterprise Architect.
  • Experience in System Engineering tools, such as DOORs and Jira.
  • Experience in working in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • French Literacy.
