Job Overview

Koh Brothers Building & Civil Engineering Contractor (PTE) Ltd. is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Design Director to lead our design teams in delivering high-quality solutions on large-scale industrial or treatment process plant projects. The ideal candidate should have at least 15 years of experience in civil engineering or architecture, with a proven track record of managing design teams.

About the Role

This is a challenging opportunity for a senior design professional to join our team as a Senior Design Director. As a key member of our design leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire design process, from concept through to detailed design and construction documentation. Your expertise in regulatory agencies' requirements and standards will ensure that all designs meet project specifications and client expectations.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, and consultants. You will also be responsible for fostering a collaborative and productive team environment, providing mentorship and guidance to junior designers and engineers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage design Consultant teams to deliver high-quality design solutions on time and within budget.
  • Oversee the entire design process, from concept through to detailed design and construction documentation.
  • Ensure designs meet project specifications, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, and consultants.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior designers and engineers.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • At least 15 years of relevant experience in civil engineering or architecture.
  • Proven experience in managing design teams on complex projects.
  • Experience in the design of multi-storey bus depots or similar structures is preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) status.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, BIM).
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $180,000 - $220,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus additional benefits such as medical insurance, retirement plan, and opportunities for career growth and development.
