About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Site Supervisor/Superintendent to join our team at Sembcorp Specialised Construction Pte. Ltd.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality of workmanship meets specifications and requirements, and that workers use correct tools and equipment for their work activities.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Resolve discrepancies or problems relating to HSSEQ issues with the Project Engineer and report all progresses/occurrences of workplace incidents promptly
  • Work with the Site Checker to order material, plant, equipment, and machinery and keep proper records on all completed works
  • Ensure construction works under his/her charge are carried out in a healthy, safe, and environmental-friendly manner according to risk assessments and safe work procedures
  • Perform duties in accordance with relevant legal requirements
  • Comply with the Company's HSSEQ Management System and carry out required/relevant requirements stated within the system
  • Take instruction from the Project Management Team and HSSE personnel regarding HSSE requirements
  • Consult with the Project Management Team and HSSE personnel on HSSE requirements to be implemented and adhered to prior to commencement of work under his/her charge
  • Inform the HSSE personnel and all other relevant parties on changes to work operations, methods, location, etc., so that appropriate HSSE controls can be implemented to mitigate risks/impacts arising from such changes
  • Ensure HSSE requirements are given the highest priority in all works and compliance with HSSE legal requirements is maintained at all times
  • Undertake appointment as member of the project's Risk Management Team (RMT) and HSSE Committee
  • Ensure all personnel and sub-contractors under his/her charge perform work in accordance with relevant legal requirements
  • Ensure all personnel and sub-contractors under his/her charge are adequately HSSE trained and competent to perform their work
  • Manage their work areas properly to ensure all operations are carried out to required standards with minimum HSSE risks and impacts to men, equipment, materials, environment, etc.
  • Ensure all machinery, plant, and equipment, hand tools, etc., used are maintained in good working condition and that all guards and other appropriate safety devices are properly fitted and functioning
  • Ensure all machinery, plant, and equipment, hand tools, etc., are positioned safely without endangering men and equipment
  • Ensure methods and sequences of construction operations are in accordance with requirements stated in the work method statement
  • Perform standing site supervision of work operations under his/her charge
  • Ensure suitable personal protective equipment and safety equipment are made available and used effectively
  • Conduct regular joint HSSE inspections with HSSE personnel to identify and rectify HSSEQ non-conformities/non-compliances

Requirements:

  • Diploma/National Technical Certificate in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or its equivalent
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in the construction industry
  • Possess relevant trade foreman certificate, NCC, BCSS, etc.
