Central Lab Specialist

In our rapidly evolving clinical laboratory, we seek a skilled Central Lab Specialist to lead the department and drive research and development within the lab. The ideal candidate will possess strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

  1. Monitor laboratory operations to ensure accurate, precise, and reliable data generation for clinical trials;

  2. Interact with various stakeholders to gain information and knowledge required to make informed business decisions;

  3. Participate in bid defense meetings with sponsors and provide technical expertise on quantitative PCR and Sanger sequencing;

  4. Ability to troubleshoot technical issues related to molecular analysis and communicate with bioinformatics scientists on NGS quality issues;

  5. Meet aggressive timelines for validation, database lock, and routine molecular data analysis;

  6. Develop and conduct training within molecular genomics and maintain instrument compliance with regulatory requirements;

  7. Review and write Validation Plans/Reports/SOPs.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • PhD in Laboratory Medicine, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry/Biotechnology, Clinical Pathology or other similar area;
  • 2-3 years of experience in molecular assay design, assay development in a clinical diagnostics environment or a translational research laboratory;
  • Experience with qPCR data analysis is required, while Sanger sequencing and NGS data analysis are desirable;
  • Excellent record keeping skills are essential;
  • Analytical Method Validation experience is preferred;
  • Previous experience in a central lab environment and human sample handling are beneficial;
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required for effective stakeholder interaction.
