Mechanical and Electrical Engineer

About the Role:

The Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Engineer plays a pivotal role in designing, coordinating, and overseeing mechanical and electrical systems for construction industrial projects.

This position involves working closely with other engineers, architects, contractors, and project managers to ensure that mechanical and electrical systems are constructed in compliance with relevant standards, cost-effective, and meet functional and safety requirements of the project.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical and electrical systems for projects, including HVAC, lighting, power distribution, plumbing systems, and fire fighting system.
  • Collaborate with architects and civil engineers to integrate M&E systems seamlessly into overall project design.
  • Ensure all designs comply with local regulations, building codes, and industry standards.
  • Prepare technical specifications, drawings, and plans for mechanical and electrical installations.
  • Oversee installation of mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications.
  • Ensure safe installation, adhering to safety standards and risk management protocols.
  • Conduct testing and commissioning of M&E systems to ensure they are fully operational and meet performance standards.
  • Manage M&E components of the project, including scheduling, budgeting, and coordinating with subcontractors and vendors.
  • Monitor and supervise on-site activities to ensure compliance with M&E specifications and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other engineers to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Provide ongoing technical support during and after construction phase, ensuring mechanical and electrical systems are functioning efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Establish and follow preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of designs, technical specifications, calculations, and installation activities.
  • Report project progress to senior management, identifying any potential delays or issues and recommending solutions.
Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline is required.

At least 5 years of experience in mechanical and electrical engineering, with a focus on construction, building services, or industrial projects is necessary.

Prior experience in MOE projects will be an advantage.

Singaporean citizens and Permanent Residents are eligible to apply.
