Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Design Manager to lead our team of design professionals in the development and implementation of electrical switchboard designs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering or marine engineering and excellent leadership skills.

  • This role requires a high level of technical expertise, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, allocating and assigning jobs to subordinates and ensuring timely completion of projects.
  • They will also be responsible for checking and approving design drawings and documents produced by subordinate staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead a team of design professionals in the development and implementation of electrical switchboard designs.
  2. Plan, allocate and assign jobs to subordinates and ensure timely completion of projects.
  3. Check and approve design drawings and documents produced by subordinate staff.
  4. Responsible for effective implementation and control of Design Control functions and quality system.
  5. Prepare material requisition lists for job requirements and plan and design electrical switchboards, consoles and control panels according to customer's requirements and company standards.
  6. Coordinate with clients and consultants on technical requirements and attend technical discussions when required.
  7. Check and follow-up on design and shop drawings with production departments.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or Marine Engineering or equivalent.
  • Further knowledge or experience in DC-grid power system and switchgear control for ship, VFD Control and Integration with Azimuth Thruster, Energy management for Hybrid ship is an advantage.
