As a cloud engineer, you will play a key role in designing and building scalable systems on Azure.

Your primary responsibilities will include designing, building, and deploying scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on Azure. You will also be responsible for managing and optimizing Azure environments, focusing on deploying secure and scalable Azure landing zones.

You will identify appropriate use of Azure operational best practices and architectural design patterns, conduct systems plan studies and system modeling, performance and capacity analysis, and estimate cost and identify cost control mechanisms for Azure cloud-based resources.

Migrating complex, multi-tier applications on Azure is another critical task you will perform. You will implement and control the flow of data to and from Azure, select the appropriate Azure service based on data, compute, database, or security requirements, and integrate Azure services with on-premises networks as required.

Additionally, you will maintain knowledge of the latest Azure updates and improvements to provide optimal solutions. You will provide expertise and architectural assistance to other IT personnel, including software developers and systems engineers.

Designing and implementing disaster recovery and business continuity strategies on Azure cloud is another important responsibility. You will implement Azure security and compliance measures and take a leadership role in guiding others.

In order to succeed in this role, you will need a bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent, at least 8 years of total working experience in Cloud, 5 years of experience as a Cloud Architect or similar role, 5 years of project implementation & support experience in designing, building and operating cloud infrastructures and services.

You will have a strong foundation in knowledge of programming languages, operating systems, databases, and software development methodologies. Effective communication skills (written and verbal) to properly articulate complicated cloud reports to management and other IT development partners are essential.

Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Developer, Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate, or related areas of expertise are desired. Furthermore, the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team environment is necessary.
