The RoleAs a Claims Executive at North Standard Group, you will be responsible for handling many different P&I claims, including those that are more difficult and complex, from notification to completion.
- Verifying that the risk/claims is covered under the Members entry with the Club.
- Settling third party P&I claims at the most economic figure possible, in accordance with the Rules and the Member's Terms of Entry.
- Appointing lawyers, surveyors, and consultants to receive and critically evaluate advice received, and act thereon.
- Notifying Reinsurance and making recoveries from both the pool and the excess reinsurers, or other contractual parties where appropriate.
You'll work closely with internal and external partners to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
About YouWe're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys what they do and has a determined 'can do' attitude. A confident communicator, you should also be able to challenge and influence at all levels and liaise effectively.
A degree (preferably in Law), legally qualified lawyer or barrister experience, previous shipping law experience, excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with individual members, and willingness to travel internationally are essential qualifications.
Previous Club (P&I) experience or previous experience of working in the maritime industry is desirable.
