Job Title

The Role of an Instrumentation and Control Manager is a critical position within the organization. It involves overseeing various aspects related to instrumentation, control systems, and associated networks.

This individual will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in projects that cover multiple applications, including SCADA, plant controls, telecommunications networks, and related systems.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Leading a team of engineers across different disciplines such as process, mechanical, and electrical engineers working on projects involving diverse applications.
  • Preparing an overview after reviewing the Client's IC&A strategy and comparing it with project provisions.
  • Responsible for preparing instrument lists, cabling requirements, and scope matrices when procurement is required for the IC&A scope.
  • Selecting instruments, analyzers, and other control equipment to meet specifications and design requirements for procurement.
  • Reviewing technical submissions for compliance to project requirements and preparing technical submissions to client consultants for approval in a timely manner.
  • Preparation of P&ID, process control narratives, instrument lists, and I/O (input/output) or updating client P&ID, process control narratives, instrument lists, and I/O (input/output) based on available information from process equipment vendors. Issuing project requirements to equipment vendors according to the scope matrix of the IC&A package.
  • Representing the company at client and consultants' meetings on IC&A matters.
  • Reviewing and understanding IC&A interfaces with other sub-contracts or third parties and preparing a program to meet interface milestones or bringing the attention of supervising consultants in a timely manner regarding our requirements to meet construction programs.
  • Preparing Inspection and Testing Procedure for the IC&A Systems and leading in the testing and commissioning of the IC&A systems. Working with other disciplines from the company to ensure full integration of process equipment controls.

Achieving success in this role requires:

  • Possessing at least a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, or Advanced Diploma in Process Control and Instrumentation.
  • Holding 10 years of EICA work experience, preferably in water/waste water projects.
  • Having experience in selecting, installing, and commissioning instruments.
  • Having basic programming skills in PLC/DCS and SCADA.
  • Experiencing project execution, supervision, and coordination with subcontractors, consultants, and clients.
